Just as families are tightening their belts, and just as Colorado balances its budget, so too America must restore fiscal responsibility, balance our budget, and get our economy moving and creating jobs again. That’s why Congressman Polis supports a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution and why he recently voted for a plan written by Republicans and Democrats that would balance the budget in a way that is fair, that secures our long-term economic strength, and preserves investments in our future.
But we all know that the best ideas come don’t come from Washington; they come from Coloradans. Congressman Polis is holding a series of Special Town Hall Workshops on the Federal Budget in Boulder, Westminster and Erie. The Concord Coalition, a leading national organization dedicated to fiscal responsibility, will direct an exercise that explains the options before Congress and lets you choose how you would balance the budget. In Westminster, Jared will be joined by his friend and colleague, Congressman Ed Perlmutter.
We need a fresh, new approach to fixing the federal budget. So Congressman Polis hopes you’ll join him at one of these Special Town Hall Meetings on the Federal Budget in Boulder, Erie or Westminster on July 14 (see locations and times below). Bring your ideas and let’s all work together to get our budget back on the path to fiscal responsibility.
Please click here to RSVP for one of these three events to ensure that we can make room for everyone who would like to attend.
This August, Congressman Polis will hold nine additional town halls to hear from you on any topic you want to discuss. Those dates are also below and be sure to check back soon for locations.
