Congressman Polis Announces New District Staff Hire

Former Colorado State Senator Sue Windels has joined the Office of Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) as his Constituent Advocate for education, effective August 23.
“With her legislative accomplishments, passion for education and real life experience as a public school teacher and parent, Sue brings a wealth of knowledge to my office and will be a welcome addition to our team,” said Polis.
Windels served in the Colorado State Senate (District 19) from 2001-2008, where she chaired the Senate Education Committee from 2004-2008, and in the Colorado House of Representatives (District 27) from 1998-2000.
Her duties will include community outreach, constituent advocacy, policy and program development, and other activities in connection with the upcoming congressional re-authorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, expected in 2011
