Polis Comments on New EPA Carbon Rule
Representative Jared Polis (CO-02) today made the following comments in response to the new carbon pollution rules proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency:
“The dangerous and costly effects of climate change are already upon us. Over the past few years Colorado has experienced record heat, drought, historic flooding, and destructive wildfires. If we want to slow the impact of climate change, we must start curbing carbon pollution now.
“Colorado is leading the nation’s transition to a clean-energy future by passing a strong renewable energy portfolio standard that has, and will continue to significantly cut our state’s carbon pollution. Since the House Majority leadership won’t act, I applaud the administration and the EPA for taking action and proposing robust carbon pollution standards for existing power plants.”
