In response to the confirmation of two cases of H1N1, the “swine flu” in Colorado, Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) posted links to bilingual information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on his website, www.polis.house.gov, to help Colorado residents stay healthy and up-to-date on the situation.

“Communication is key to preventing unnecessary alarm and confusion,” said Polis.  “That’s why I’ve added a direct link to the CDC‘s H1N1-Swine Influenza Online Information Center to my website.  The link is available in Spanish and English to ensure that all Coloradans can receive accurate and up-to-date information on H1N1 as it develops.  I am working closely with authorities in Colorado and Washington to monitor the situation.”

Two green buttons on the right-hand side of Congressman Polis’ website www.polis.house.gov will take you directly to Spanish and English versions of the CDC website’s main source of information on the H1N1-Swine Influenza investigation.  The CDC links include General Information, Travel Notices, Things You Can Do, Reports and Publications, and an up-to-the moment “What’s New” section.

Information on H1N1 is also available via the following Hotlines:

•    Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): 1-800-232-4636
•    Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment: 303- 692-2000 (Local) or 1-800-886-7689 (Toll-Free).
•    Colorado Swine Flu Hotline: 1-877-462-2911
