In a rare show of unity, all seven congressmen and women from Colorado are co-sponsoring a bill to combat the state's bark beetle infestation.

The bill would establish emergency areas for reducing the danger from fire and falling trees in beetle-kill zones. It would also provide incentives to use forest materials for fuel.

Democratic Rep. John Salazar introduced the bill. Democrats Diana DeGette, Ed Perlmutter, Jared Polis and Betsy Markey and Republicans Doug Lamborn and Mike Coffman are co-sponsors.

It's similar to a bipartisan measure introduced in the Senate last month by Democrat Mark Udall of Colorado and Republican James Risch of Idaho.
